Paris to Chalon sur Soane

Having got Wafu to Paris the rest of the chaps returned to the UK and left me onboard, where I was joined by Jane, my Partner, and three of our offspring with two of their partners. The cheapest rooms in Paris !, moored in the Paris Arsenal right by the Bastille... Fantastic.

Le Havre to Paris

Having taken the mast of and posted it to Marseille we left Le Havre for Paris and our first stop was to be Rouen. Having moored overnight in Honfleur so as to get an easier start in the morning we set of on the tide and were carried up the seine to Rouen, make sure you time the tides correctly as there are very few places to moor before Rouen. 'The Wafu' was the brainchild of Andy, who decided he wanted to own a yacht to sail in the Med and that he also wanted partners to share the cost and the experience. So he purchased a Beneteau 325 in Holland, sailed it back and asked around the club (Medway Yacht Club) for anybody that may be interested in buying a share....... and then there were 4.... Andy, Henry, Barry and Mike, that's me!
We then upgraded and refurbished during the winter of 2009/2010 ready for the adventure to start in the summer of 2010.
In June 2010 we set of and sailed to Portsmouth, took part in the Round the Island Race (which is quite a spectacle if you have not sailed in it, especially in the downwind leg where the horizon is just full of spinnakers, over 1700 yachts) before setting of for Le Havre where we de-masted, ready for our journey through the French Canals
