We have decided on a name

02 November 2013 | Iowa
Gene
This morning Amy, two of my step daughters (Madison and Hannah), one of Hannah's close friends Kim, and I traveled north to do fall yard work for Amy's grand parents. Grandpa Hartig, a 95 year old WWII vet with two Purple Hearts and the love of his life (quit literally, they have been married for 70+ years) grandma Hartig 93 aren't getting around like they use to, so we came to help.

On the way Amy and I discussed boat names. We through out Renegade, Tipsea, Karma, Freya, Southern Grace, Marie Luvoe, Lone Star, and even Sweet Escape. We liked them all, but something just wasn't right. While we discussed the possible name we listened to classical piano music (Amy has played the piano for most her life) the first song she ever played for me and one of Amy's favorite pieces came on. The name of the song was thrown as an option to name the boat and we knew it was the name of our sailing vessel. We will be sailing Claire de lune (means "light of the moon")
