Wednesday 26th March towards Grenada
26 March 2014
All is well. We had a frustrating couple of days with light, flukey winds, lightning, occasional torrential rain, and random fishing boats, then our steering cable broke again. Not a disaster, because when we are going along using sails only the Aries windvane steering system works directly on a tiller. However if we want to motor, for example in light airs, then the autopilot works on the wheel and we need the steering cable. Anyway, we mended it again. We are now romping along in moderate northerly winds, just south of the equator, closehauled with the main and unpoled genoa. Roast pork, crackling, fresh greens, and roast potatoes for tea, on no, that is what Pip was dreaming about last night. Its probably pasta pesto tuna, which is Kevins favourite anyway.
