Towards Europe Wed 23rd
23 July 2014
All is well. Red sky in morning, sailors warning, but despite a very rosy dawn there is no horrible wind forecast. In fact there is very little wind so we are currently motoring. Our cunning plan was to motorsail quite north while there was not much wind then turn east to take advantage of the northerlies coming, and touch wood things seem to be working out. We are now on a direct course of 77 degrees for Falmouth skirting the bottom of the Scilly Isles and due touch wood etc etc to arrive in Falmouth sometime Saturday, maybe in the morning. We have to remember that we are approaching things like shipping lanes, channel tides and currents and races round headlands like the Lizard but at the moment the sea is so flat we can see the dolphins gambolling up from a long way away. We will probably not stop in Falmouth for long as we will try and head towards the Isle of Wight for the following weekend, but anybody who happens to be around is more than welcome to come and say hello. We will blog daily with updates. TTFN. Oh almost forgot.......... pasta pesto and tuna for tea. Rather looking forward to Cornish pasties and pints though.
