Today is Monday evening, I'm still at work. One more work day to go. It still doesn't seem real. We must be leaving, we keep having going away parties. We had a great send-off happy hour from our friends and old neighbors from Islander St. Then we had another excellent party from our boat friends over at White Rocks, then I had a huge going away lunch from my friends at work. Thank you all very, very much!. Maybe I'm just hung over from all that partying.
Don't feel like a "cruiser" yet. So, last night, I pulled my bike down out of the boat yard and tied it up on the lifeline. Now we'll look like a "cruiser". Didn't work. Still don't feel like a "cruiser" (maybe if I tied on some jerry-jugs).
I need to ask Dave and Margi, our friends who headed south Oct 1, if they feel like cruisers yet, or just people who live on a boat and are 'land transportation challenged'.
So, 38.5 hours from now, we pull away from the dock, head to the fuel dock to pumpout, turn right and we're gone....to somewhere.

We have buyers for both of the cars, and we can continue to drive through the 28th or 29th. Is that awesome or what? Things like that just don't happen...this is meant to be (One of my skills...I can rationalize anything).
The weather has been incredible for October. I had accepted the idea that it would be a very cold run down to South Carolina. The way things are going I think it will be an incredible run down the bay. It's supposed to be in the lower 80's today - half way though October!
So this weekend I'll pickle the watermaker, since we won't be using it for a month or so, and install the external wifi bridge up on the mast. Then maybe run oer to COSTCO and start provisioning - MUNCHIES. Lots and lots of munchies.
When I look past the todo list(s), I'm starting to get a wee bit excited. I actually pulled out some nav charts this morning (while I was getting ready for work). So that's where the Bahamas are...zip down to Lauderdale and hang a left.

Notice has been given. That's one less item on the "short list". 3 weekends left to work the list down to 0. Not going to happen. I guess I'll have to shorten the "short list".
It amazes me just how much work it is to get away.
o The house and every thing in it is gone (except what fit on the boat - note-to-self: add "lighten the boat" to the "short list").
o The jobs will dissapear on their own.
o Almost have my mail drop setup.
o Gotta get rid of the cars in the next 4 weeks.
Hmm, I guess I can take the rest of the short list with me.
Well. I feel much better now.
