Hawksbill Cay - 040308 to 040408

I am SO glad we left that beautiful beach at George Town so we could come here. Now we have a beautiful beach at Hawksbill! What a HUGE difference!

For those of you who raised your hands....

Yes indeedy, we did finally leave and we are actually anchored over at Little Bay around the corner from Black Point Settlement where there are some nice beaches although granted not quite as nice as Sand Dollar Beach w/ a path over to the sound side. After all, we did have to leave here at some point and there are a whole lot of pretty islands to explore out there. Left pix on the boat so will post at a later date some pix of our anchor chain when we hauled it up at GTown. I didn't know you needed bottom paint on anchor chain.....

O.K. If you really thought she was going to let me stay, raise your hand.

If you raised your hand, your dismissed.

We're leaving tomorrow, Saturday 032908, for Black Point Settlement. Now just between you and me, my current location is much, much nicer. It's a bit of a hike to the real nice beaches from the anchorage at Black Point. The people are very friendly, however, so I'll manage (they have free wifi in the bar...shhhh).

I took some shots of the nav charts to show where we are and were we'll be.

For our route north, we plan to work our way up the Exuma chain, and probably cut out from Normans Cay and cross over to Eluthra. Work our way to the north of Eluthra, then jump out to the Abacos. All subject to change, of course. By the time we work our way thru the Abacos, we should only have about 550 nmiles (as the crow flies) to Norfolk.
