Cruising Maine June 2012 X Tuesday, June 26, 2012 Somes Harbor, Somesville, Mt. Desert, Maine Water temperature 61 F

Yesterday, we put five bags of laundry in the dinghy, rode to the dinghy dock, lugged the bags a quarter mile to the bus stop, rode the bus to Southwest Harbor and then lugged the bags from the bus stop to the laundry. I was also lugging the laptop cause there was Wi-Fi and good cell phone connections at the laundry and I had a lot of calls to make and things that needed doing on the Internet. So, while Patti did the laundry, I made phone calls.

We both got finished about the same time, had some lunch and then reversed the journey. Our hike back was shorter since the bus driver graciously agreed to drop us off right at the lane leading back to the dinghy dock. We were back on the boat 30 minutes before the drizzle started. We had some concern that we were going to caught in the rain with five bags of clean, dry laundry. We had large garbage bags with us to put the laundry in if it rained but it would have been very awkward to carry the bags that way. Anyway, we lucked out, mission accomplished.

And it is still raining. The rain is forecast to stop some time next century. There's no place we need to go and nothing we need to do. This looks like a hide-out on the boat day.
