We only had fifteen miles to go from Woods Hole to Cuttyhunk but with up to a three knot current against us the whole way, it took awhile to get there. I was at Cuttyhunk over twenty five years ago when my one son, Tom, and I sailed there on our 22 foot Catalina. At that time we navigated with paper charts, compass and binoculars. This time the navigation was easier but coming through the narrow entrance channel with sand bars on both sides was still a challenge.

Once we had the boat moored and secured, we took the dinghy ashore and walked along the sandy beach. It has been awhile since we were on a sandy beach. After our beach time we took the dinghy to the Town Dock and walked around the village of Cuttyhunk.

We are on our way to Block Island this morning and have shipping traffic to deal with. It's not crowded but after months of nothing but lobster boats to deal with, it takes some getting used to.
