Water torture at Wallilabou falls

A hot walk up to Wallilabou falls was rewarded with a lovely fresh water shower, (thats if you like water torture.....it really hurt, but was worth it!)

Boat Boys Wallilabou

With a successful result on the anchor winch and unsuccessful one with the alternator, we left Young Island Cut and headed further north up the leeward side of St Vincent to Wallilabou Bay.
Those of you who are fans of Pirates of the Caribbean would probably recognise the bay for it is here that Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest, was filmed. The buildings were built by Disney as part of the set and some buildings were built on top of existing buildings to make a recreation of the pirate town Port Royal during the 18th century. It really is a beautiful typically Caribbean bay.

The boat boys here row out to try to get you to enlist their help from a couple of miles away (most other boat boys have outboards). They then row like mad to keep up and be with you to help you moor up fore and aft to a palm tree or pontoon. I don't think the added notoriety has helped make any of the ordinary people any richer.

Sue and I diving

Andy and Sue who we know from our sailing club, were also in St Vincent. We had a good couple of nights with them in Canouau and kept up the tradition here in St Vincent having a sing-a-long with Sue's guitar one evening. I took them both for a dive which they had never done before and they were brilliantly enthusiastic about it afterwards talking of doing a course etc.
