04/29/2010, Round Bay St Johns USVI

Our overnight passage from St Maarten was a little bumpy but after 18 hrs made it into Coral Bay St Johns. Caught a bus to go check in ( haven't done that in a while) and moved onto Round Bay which is an absolutely ideal anchorage. Beautiful clear water, lots of fish and turtles, and been doing some snorkeling. Just what the doctor ordered!
Had a few hiccups with electronics etc but most things are sorting themselves out as time goes by and problems identify themselves.
Our friends, Bob and Debbie, are a great help easing us back into sailing mode and helping Vossie to sort out electronic hiccups. We are most grateful.
Power supply is a challenge trying to keep the 2 deep freezes running...but that is to be expected on a boat. We still need our few land comforts .....

AND SO IT BEGINS

04/24/2010, MARIGOT BAY

After having been on the dock at Bobby's for three and a half months, we upgraded by going into the lagoon and anchoring there. We also had a special meal for this first night occassion. We left the lagoon on saturday the 17th and went through the bridge and anchored in Simpson Bay for two evenings and then went out into a very rolly sea and motorsailed to Grand Case.
There we sorted out a few problems in absolute idyllic conditions. Mike and Sally came out on thursday and we had lunch with Bob and Debbie and Mike and Sally, at the old favourite spot for ribs.
Motored to Marigot bay and picked up internet and therefore this blog.
Absolutely dead quiet, no wind and hot as hell. We will be leaving later today after we have checked out, and head towards the BVI's probably Virgin Gorda and then try and book in at ST Johns [USVI]. Then our plan is to go to Culebra and the other Spanish islands of Porto Rico.
So our journey begins and we will post more blogs and pictures whenever we have internet facilities.

Vossie & Gaynor, How lovely she looks. You have done amazing things to her over the years. I feel happy and sad at the same time.......brings back wonderful memories of crossing the Atlantic and cruising on her. She IS a SAFE and comfortable boat. Hope to see you, if not in St M before you leave, but when you pass through USVI or BVI. Can't wait!!!!
