We are back in the water after a year and 6 months on the hard. We did get a lot done...... buying the house and the new paint job on Whirlwind. It is time to get back out on the water and set out to do what we started and worked so hard for the last 10 years. But wait....We have to go back to San Carlos to fix the less than perfect paint job that we paid for....and that they have to fix next hurricane season. Oh....Then we have find the perfect renter for our house so we can go sailing. But mean time......We will enjoy the winter here in sunny Mexico on the Whirlwind that I have missed so much.

After a long hot smmer in Mexico we are finnally heading North. We stayed and and supervised the new paint job which took about 8 weeks. They still need to fix a few things that didn't turn out to well, but we will get it fixed when we return in October. We plan on spending another season cruising Mexico. Every now and then you have to take some time and work on the boat. Now its time to go mow the lawn.

We decided it was time for Whirlwind to have a new paint job. She was looking kinda tired. We headed back to California to buy paint, but found out we could not buy the Awlgrip in the LA area, so we had it shipped down from fisheries in Seattle. It only took a few days on a truck. Then we headed back down with the paint. The job will take about 6 weeks , so we plan on staying down here until the job is completed. We will update the blog as the job continues.

Argonaut
We missed our launch date and the tide is not high enough to launch the boat until April 27TH, so we desided to catch up on long over due boat projects. We will install new counter in the galley and Davits on the stern so we can hang the dink. I started sanding the toe rail today and will put three coats of varnish on everything I can get to.

The boat Storage is still pretty full and the boat yard is busy.

It's great to be back in sunny San Carlos! The Whirlwind looks pretty good for settting out in the dessert for nine months. We had her brought over to work yard today so we could get her cleaned up alittle before we start doing some boat projects. We will stay here and work on her until it gets to hot. We plan on going back to the house sometime in June.
