Day trips

23 February 2013 | Man of War
We arrive at Guana and anchor in Fishers Bay. We get in a swim and then watch a large delivery boat come in and drop of lumber, supplies and 3 large plastic containers (1500-2000 gallon) that we think are to hold water, at the end of the road. People came down and got them. plus a fork lift got the containers. We walked up to Nippers, did some shopping and each had a "frozen Nipper" while we sat and looked out over the Atlantic beach.
When we got back at the boat we decided to move in some and picked up a mooring. We swam around it and saw it was a large piece of cement and huge chain. While cooking supper David dropped the brush for the BBQ over. We could see it and he will go in for it tomorrow.
In the morning a girl from Dive Guana came out and collected for the mooring $20. We go in for a walk, do a bit of shopping and then back on the boat decide to head over to Man of War as the wind is picking up. We are heading into the wind it is a bit rough but calm once we near the island. We come in and pick up a mooring right across from the marina. It is $20 and you do not get to use any of the marina facilities. Not such a great deal as some. There are a couple of Canadian boats here and we chat with them. We go into the dock to Dock and Dine for supper. I got chicken in a bag which was chicken and fries with ketchup and hot sauce on it. It was good.
In the morning we go to a flea market and also get some fresh vegetables.
We are leaving later today to head over to Marsh Harbor for a Junkanoo. Not sure what to expect.
