The Nina and Pinta have arrived
24 February 2014 | Stuart,
Last night shortly before dusk the Nina and Pinta arrived here at the marina. The came from the direction of Lake Okeechobee. The last time we saw them was St. Augustine. They are tied up at one of the dock, we can see the tops of them from the boat, but see a lot more from the marinas upper deck. May go on board while they are here.
The move I was mentioning was last night. They don't have one every Friday, my mistake.
This morning Doug and Pat dropped their mooring and headed out. They texted us later and are at Jensen Beach bridge. They said the current at the dock here was making it hard to get off after they pumped out. We had also been in later and there were 3 other boats and they had a hard time getting away also. Just before we got there a sailboat had been coming in and the current pushed them into one of the trawlers. The trawler seemed ok but the sailboat had their bimini torn and one of their solar panels broken. We will have to take the current into consideration the next time we come in for a pump out. Either that or get the boat to come out to us.
We have had thunderstorms and rain the last couple of nights. It is hot and humid. Not what you want to hear back home but great for us.
How great were those Olympic games. We saw some of them, but checked each day on the computer for how we were doing. They did great. One of the best was the ladies hockey game for gold. The guys did really well when we say them defeat USA. Just got the tail end of the Gold game.
Still planning on staying at least another week. Once we are here for 15 days will pay for the month.
Sorry still no pictures.
