Almost Home

11 April 2015 | Maine
We were all packed on Tuesday so we decided to do the final check on the boat and leave Wednesday. We paid our bill and covered the boat. A few hours later in Georgia we got stuck behind and accident. It was a 2 1/2 wait before we got moving. We made it to Walterboro, SC. We had planned to visit with friends in North Carolina but unfortunately she ended up in the hospital, so plans changed. We will miss seeing them , but we are told she is ok. We are in no rush to get home. (Cold and snow) The next day we head further north and unfortunately we are again delayed by an accident. Only about an hour this time, and we end up in Harrisonburg, VA. Friday we head out and plan to make it to Waterbury, CT. Between fog in the mountains and delayed by another accident we make it to Bethel, CT. It was only a short delay today.
Today we headed to Portland, ME and went to Hamilton Marine before heading to Augusta. We stopped for the day and plan to have a short trip home tomorrow. We unfortunately coming into Maine started seeing snow. It was off in the woods, but it was awful to see. I know we will see even more tomorrow but have to get home so we can dig out the boat and get it ready for the river. Looking forward to seeing friends and family.
