Our trip down

04 February 2016 | Vero Beach
We got away from St Augustine Friday morning and at Fort Matanza we (Janet) went too close to the green buoys and touched but didn't stick. At Daytona a few boats with 65 ft masts were waiting for the tide to go out a bit. The waters are high and the bridges were 63 and 64 when we went under. A very quiet and calm night here. Saturday we arrive in Titusville and pick up a mooring. On the way through Haulover Canal there were lots of boats and people out fishing. I always enjoy coming out on the Titusville side because the islands there have pink flamingos on them. At Titusville we got fuel and in the evening we listened to a band playing at the bar under the bridge. Sunday we leave and get to a couple of islands along the waterway about 25 miles north of Vero, where we anchor for the night. Another calm evening, and it looks like warm weather when we get to Vero Beach. Monday we arrive in Vero around noon and come in beside Doug and Pat who are members of our boat club back home. Plan to be here at least a week having battery problems.
