Hopetown Bound
21 April 2016
Becky
We left Marsh Harbour around 8:30, heading to Hopetown for a couple of days. Nemo is buddy boating with us!!
We motor over to Hopetown. It's blowing about 12-15 knots, but not in a favorable direction to use the sails. It's a lovely sunny, cool morning. We arrive at Hopetown mid morning, and catch one of the few available mooring balls. The guys jump in our dinghy and help Don get a mooring close by us. The guys on a 52 ft. Catamaran on the ball in front of us shout that we are "much too close" to them. It's a mooring field, dumbass!!!
We enjoy a breakfast cocktail before heading out to explore the town a bit.
Lunch is freshly made conch salad from Munchies. A round of cold beer to wash it down. Mary and I share the less spicy order. Don, Pete and Robert go for the hot stuff!!
Mid afternoon, we go snorkeling . We see lots of huge starfish, a turtle, and several Baracuda. I even see a baby shark!!! We collect a few sea urchin shells, and enjoy a walk along the beach.
The rain clouds begin to roll in around 5 pm, and the winds pick up too!! We enjoy snacks and cold beer in SeaQuell's cockpit.
Dinner tonight is grilled steaks, oven roasted potatoes, and a tossed salad. Red wine all around!!
After dinner, we break out the Mexican Train dominoes. Pete and Mary catch on quickly, and we play half a game . We'll continue it another night. It's been a fun filled day, but we need some rest!! Goodnight!!
