Change of Plans

23 April 2016
Becky
We left Hopetown at 8:30 am. We intended to head for Tiloo Cay today, but the wind gods had a different plan. Instead, we headed to Little Harbour.

We arrived at Little Harbour about 2 hours after high tide. SeaQuell made it through the channel with depth to spare--Nemo's right behind us. Nemo made it through the shallow channel with about 6-8 inches to spare!!!! Whew!!!

We both snagged a mooring without difficulty. There are lots of mooring balls available today. Turtles are swimming all around, welcoming us to the Harbour. A quick rain shower blew thru just as we were hooking our mooring,

Lunch is ham sandwiches, chips, pickles, hummus, and guacamole. Bloody Mary's. too!!

After lunch, we dinghy over to explore the cave. The guys brought flashlights this time, and they head deep into the cave. The bats really dislike their lights!! Mary and I kinda lag behind at the opening of the cave. We're not crazy about the bats!!

We head over to Pete's Pub for a drink, and to pay our mooring fee. With drinks in hand, we go for a nice long walk on the beach. I find a few tiny pieces of seaglass, and several pretty shells. We all enjoy watching the waves fill the pools in the coral. There are thousands of small snails, tiny fish, crabs, and mollusks.

We stay on the beach for a couple of hours, and head back to SeaQuell. It's almost time for dinner!! Tonight it's lobster and pasta in a white wine, butter, and garlic sauce. Tossed salad and crusty french bread to round out the meal.

After dinner, we break out the Mexican Train Dominoes. My winning streak was very short-lived. Don is tonight's leader ( we only played half a game). For the first time ever in the Bahamas, the mosquitoes buzz about. We have to put in our screens!!

We head to bed under a bright almost full moon. The Harbour is very quiet tonight-- only a few anchor lights dotting the sky. So peaceful!!!!
