Impatiently Waiting

26 June 2012 | Washington,NC
Becky
We have spent the last week waiting for the repairmen that assured us our jobs would be done by last week. Still no fridge or freezer-- completion date was scheduled to be the 22nd. Am I crazy, or is it the 26th???

As I write this blog, I'm still waiting for the work to BEGIN, much less be completed!!!

We did finally get the mounts for our hammock seat installed yesterday, but still waiting for completion of that project as well. We have no cables---- kinda hard to use the seat without the cables!

Robert and I, however , have completed ALL our projects--- of course, we've worked thru lunch, on weekends, at the ass crack of dawn, and late at night. We have installed 4 new solar panels and the charger. We also have completely reupholstered our setee -- new foam and fabric-- it looks great!!

Robert has also repaired the bimini canvas on a friend's boat and installed a chart plotter on another friend's boat.

We love helping our friends, and Robert gets a lot of satisfaction from these projects.

As usual, we depart in 3 days, so Robert is out of town on business. I'm getting pretty good at preparing the boat for our passages. Today is laundry day--- tomorrow I am taking our car to our next destination-- Urbanna, VA and flying back to Washington with friends..

Provisioning for a week or two is going to be a super challenge--- especially with no fridge. This old Coleman cooler has been a life saver, but I'm really getting tired of hauling 20 pound bags of ice.

Oh,guess what --- the repairman for the fridge just arrived. Pray that he can complete the work by tomorrow!!!

Next post will be from Ellizabeth City-- stay tuned.
