More busy days

11 January 2013 | Stuart, FL
Becky
We've been quite busy since New Years.

We thought maybe after the first of the year, things may settle down a bit. It appears that's not happening.

We're in the process of getting a cockpit enclosure made. Robert just does not have the time to do it himself. We've gotten 2 estimates-- of course, both higher than we anticipated, but we know we'll enjoy it once it's done.

Robert went ice fishing in Minnesota for a week. Maggie and I hung out together. I did some much needed cleaning on  the inside of SeaQuell.  I visited  with dock friends here at the marina. Also went to the green market with friends Gail and Pat from Sunset Bay marina. The market was great!! Lots of fresh fruits and veggies ( my faves).

Robert got home around 2 am on Monday , Jan 7th from his fishing trip. He had lots of fun!!!!  Maggie and I are sure glad to see him, even though we know it's short- lived. He leaves again on Tuesday for a business trip to NC.

I  had a banner week!!  On Tuesday morning, I fell down the transom steps with  the laundry hamper in tow. The laundry went in the river-- thank God it floated for just a few seconds and Robert was able to grab it before it sank. My quarters for the machines did sink---$10 worth!!! This was NOT  how I intended to start my day! I didn't get hurt badly, just bruised my elbow and my pride.

Robert left Tues. afternoon, making me promise to be more careful!!
Tuesday night I attended the weekly potluck dinner -- good food, and great fun with dock friends.

On Wednesday, I slipped again heading to the bathhouse. Didn't actually fall this time, just slipped and slid a bit. Later in the day, I cut my finger with a very sharp knife while slicing a lime for my evening cocktail. It took I forever to stop bleeding, but didn't need stitches! So much for my "be more careful" promise. I seem to be quite clumsy this week.

Robert returned late last night from his business trip ( actually wee morning hours). It's work for him today and errands for me.  I 've done the laundry without incident!!!!  Rode my bike with the cooler in the basket to get ice --- no mishaps there either!!!!  Maybe my balance is improving!

Planning to attend the Stuart boat show tomorrow, and do some small boat projects on Sunday. We may even make it to the pool or hot tub!

It's lovely here---- the weather is great--  80's most days!!!   We don't miss the winter weather AT ALL!!!!!!!  We're getting lots of exercise, and lovin' our simple life.
