Titusville!!

21 November 2014

Friday Nov. 21

We depart New Smyrna around 8 am.

The wind is almost behind us, so we fly the spinnaker today. We give our poor old engines a break, initially just idling, and at 9:30 cutting them completely. Oh, what a wonderful lack of noise!!!!!! SeaQuell is once again a SAILBOAT!! We're making between 6.5-7 knots !!!!! Love this ride!! Top speed 8.3 knots!!!

We douse the spinnaker to go through Haulover Canal, and try to raise it again--- seems it got a little "twisted", and now the lines aren't set correctly. Robert tames the beast (the spinnaker), and gets everything readjusted, and we're off again! The wind has calmed some, but we still maintain a little over 5 knots.

We are a little ahead of schedule for Titusville, but we head on in anyway. Douse the sail, start the engines, and motor into our slip. Nemo and Perceptions follow suit.

Once everyone is settled in their slip, we have a bite of lunch on our respective boats. Robert returns to work meetings, and I do a bit of tidying up, wash the lunch dishes, and brush Maggie--- she is once again trying to create a fur rug for SeaQuell's salon.

We plan to have dinner at Quillen's Taco Shack-- one of our favorite dives. Each of us enjoys some "down time" until dinner. I plan to spend my time enjoying a hot shower, maybe a quick nap, and doing some reading. Robert continues to work.

Dinner was great!!! I could only eat 1/2 of my burger, but it was YUMMY!! Judy had a Taco Salad, Don had a Chimichanga, and Robert had the pork tenderloin sandwich.

We walked back to the marina, stopped by Perceptions to discuss tomorrow's plan. Hope to make it to Vero Beach.
