Fun in Manjack Cay

We left our anchorage at Marsh Harbour around 10:00 am. We raise the main before we haul the anchor.

Just outside the channel we raise the jib too. Winds are light; about 7 knots out of ESE. After sail along at about 4 knots for an hour, then decide to drop the jib and fly the spinnaker. Now we're cookin'.

We average 5.5-6 knots. Arrive at Don't Rock Cut at mid-tide. Much less anxiety invoking than at dead low (typical Nordstrom fashion). Didn't even tap the bottom!!There are a few clouds building behind us, but basically a beautiful day. I even managed to catch a few "rays" while lying on the trampoline.

Lunch is conch salad. After lunch, we get into a little storm-- thunder, lightning, and a very nice rain. SeaQuell finally gets the salt off!!

We arrive at Manjack Cay around 2:30 pm. The sun is shining, the water is crystal clear, and it's very warm.

We set the anchor with no problem , and relax in the cockpit with a cocktail. On shore we see a lone feral pig just wandering about. Don't think I'll be swimming over in that direction!! However, a little skinny dipping sounds like a good plan. We both very discreetly slip in for a cool dip, then a fresh water rinse.

We indulge in a quick nap, and then just relax in the cockpit. A late afternoon shower comes through, and cools things off nicely.

I do a little cooking-- boiling some eggs and prepping a pasta salad.

Around 5:30, we head out in the dinghy to do a little exploring. We ride through clear water among the mangroves, and almost to the ocean. We enjoy a walk on a beautiful white sand beach, and watch tiny crabs at the waters' edge. We also see several sting rays, lots of starfish, and a few live conch. Maggie loved it!! We hope to come back and snorkel in the morning.

It's getting dark when we return to SeaQuell, and we enjoy a simple dinner of leftovers. It's clean out the fridge night.

There are a few clouds that may give us a little more rain, and thunder can be heard in the distance.

This will probably be the last blog entry for a few days. Will not have Internet access.

We hate to think of leaving this lovely place, but we're heading home soon. Robert needs to return to work so we can continue to have these fun adventures!!!!!
