We left Palm Cove Marina around 8:30 am--- we had a late night last night as Robert didn 't get back to SeaQuell till 11:00. His flight from Atlanta was delayed.
It's beautiful in Jax Beach, Florida. Sunny, warm and calm on the ICW. Hard to believe there's a sub-tropical depression brewin'
We decided to forego the offshore passage today-- forecast calling for 5-7 ft. seas. Winds NW 15-20.
We motored till late morning, when the wind turned a little more westerly. Then we raised the jib.
Our speed varied widely-- lots of current . As little as 3.5 knots to a little over 7 knots.
Lunch is turkey, spinach and tomato wraps and boiled eggs.
After lunch, we had several light rain showers so SeaQuell got a rinse.
We motorsail all afternoon. It's relatively quiet on the water today-- seems nice. We see a few dolphins, and a couple of bald eagles.
Dinner is ground beef, pasta, mushroom and spinach skillet.
We arrive at Jekyll Island at just after low tide. PUCKER!!! Only a little over a foot of water under the keel. The sunset was gorgeous, despite some clouds.
We dropped the anchor at St.Simons Island around 8:45 pm, after weaving among the crab pots. The no see-ums are out in full force, so we quickly head inside for a cocktail.
We start the generator, turn on the TV to catch the weather. Unsure about plans for tomorrow-- gotta keep an eye out for Ana.
