Crab Pot Central

We're underway at 5:45 am. Just able to make out the numerous crab pots .

Looks like we'll motor again today. No wind just yet!! The Neuse River is FLAT!!!!

The fuzzybills invaded the boat last night. They are EVERYWHERE!!!!

When we get into the Pamlico River, we raise the jib. This increases our speed about 1/2 knot. Every little bit helps!!

We see what we believe to be the Pirates on the Pungo race going on.

Lunch is chicken wings, celery, and carrots.

We make a quick stop at Dowry Creek Marina for fuel and a potty break for Maggie. She's done a great job peeing out on the trampoline on this trip, but no poop yet. She was very thankful for a walk and grassy areas!!

The afternoon goes by slowly; we're making good time, and we can actually relax a little and enjoy the serenity. We've encountered only a few other boats, and they have been courteous.

We enter the Alligator River around 4 pm. The wind has picked up to 10 knots. We're making a little over 7 knots.

The wind builds as the evening approaches. The swing bridge tender reports 22 knots.

We make it to our anchorage at 7:30 pm dodging crabpots all the way in.

The wind is blowing a steady 15 knots, but the water is calm. Maybe we 'll be bug free tonight!!!

Dinner is leftover soup, cheese and crackers.

After a little TV, hot showers, and a nightcap we're headin' to bed. Gotta be up before dawn to continue on!!!!
