Making Progress

Wow!! Where did the night go????
We are up at 5:15. I start the coffee while Robert takes Maggie for a walk.
We're underway at 6:00. It's drizzling as we leave the dock just before sunrise.
Robert decides to fly the spinnaker around 7:30 am. The wind is almost behind us . It gains us almost a knot of speed!!
Of course, the wind gods had a change of heart, so we have to play a little spinnaker switch-a-roo.
We motor sail all morning through drizzly skies with intermittent heavy showers. Yee-Ha!!!!!!
Lunch is leftover chili. It really hits the spot on this cool, rainy day.
Just after lunch we come to Brown's Inlet--- a really tricky area to navigate.
There's a large motor yacht aground, so we slow down until he's able to get off. We saw depths of 2 ft. under our 3'8" keel, so our buddy boats Nemo and Bay Breezin follow Robert's lead, and make it thru. The motor yacht follows, and also makes it!! Major.Pucker.Factor!!!!!!!
We make it to the Onslow Beach Swing bridge at 1:02. Time to do the dance and wait for the 1:30 opening.
Again, the pucker factor is alive and well!! All 5 boats played well together/danced around like pros, and we make it thru to bridge without incident.
On to our anchorage for the night at Mile Hammock. SeaQuell is leading the pack. Someone must have pissed off the rain gods; it rained the entire time we were anchoring and while Bay Breezin' and NEMO rafted alongside. AND--- the wind gods want a piece of the action---- most wind we've had all day!!
We all settle in to our respective boats to try and dry out a bit. Well, I meant dry out our CLOTHES!!! I think it's time for a nice strong rum and coke!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh
Dinner is aboard Nemo tonight. Delicious barbeque subs and veggies. Thanks Judy!!!
We finish our game of dominoes, and turn in early. Planning another full day tomorrow.
The anchorage has about 13 boats tonight. All the anchor lights look lovely. Good night!!
