"Full and Bye' ie broad reaching at 120 degrees off the Starboard bow, CTS 295 T , now 210 NM to HIlo, Hawaii. This means that the breeze has " veered" ( shifted clockwise ) from our beam to aft quarter and Terrwyn's happiest point of sail with flexibility up or down. WE eased the sheets and let her run now, down the quartering seas , sweet. Best of all, is now we are in good shape to make Hawaii landfall day after tomorrow's dawn , again our general goal of being ~ 20 miles off at daybreak. We were not so lucky on this leg requiring an extra night out " hove to" off Bonair and Santa Marta ,Colombia to have the same lanfall timing so very thankful for what appears to be shaking down on this passage. ...better lucky than good ...

Initially I was not so keen on email, Blogging and SSB/Ham readio Nets. contact. Double edged swords .Improved "outside" contact and esp plus an added safety avenue and weather reports - a responsible choice. However,these technologies diminish our solitude. They make a connection. WE lose the complete separation when we set out to be free. Certainly not completly however they are all shades of grey ,not a case of black and white. What is five weeks at sea when facing 25 years on land largely in a city of a million? We can only see 5 or 6 miles ,yet can feel the 1,000NM plus from us to anyone or anything. Writing the blog is good fun and a highlight of our day,sharing feels good with our friends and certainly "our way". We are not using kerosine for light nor relying on the sextant to find our way. It is all more than good even in 2016. Sharing and hearing from you as we roll along the old chariot is one of the best bits. who's to know . TY all for reading us.
