Egersund

August 5th. We reached Leirvik, the center of Stord south of Bergen after a terrific day cruising the archipelago. Leirvik turned out to be more or less closed for the summer, so after a nights rest we went for Tananger south of Stavanger.
As the day turned out to be just as fine as the day before we decided to continue to Egersund. That meant crossing Sletta (a mean stretch in bad weather) to Haugesund, and from there over Jæren (also a mean coastal area). Both those areas offer unpleasant and dangerous waves because of the shallow seabed.
We reached Egersund 2400 after a bumpy but pleasant sail ending in an hour navigating by lights to Egersund. Pretty tired but happy with a perfect day's cruise off shore.
