Slap Some Paint On That

Yesterday was a holiday, and I had some time to work on the boat. The weather has been cold and snowy lately, which isn't much of an incentive to spend time on her. But there are tasks to be done, so I put on some extra warm clothes and headed out to Wilparina.

Most of the wiring and old hoses have been removed from bulkheads in the maintenance locker, aft of the engine. It's good to get a new coat of paint on the bulkheads before Dave starts to reassemble everything. I vacuumed out the space and then slapped some "bikini blue" deck paint around. Its a tight fit down there, which makes painting a difficult maneuver. You can't paint everything all at once because you need to leave a dry place to sit and an escape route. So in this phase, I got the most important areas painted.

I was actually fairly comfortable working down below. Meanwhile topside, a couple of rain and snow squalls blew through. Occasional gusts would blow a smattering of icy rain into the cockpit.

Dave purchased the new Balmar 100 amp alternator and new voltage regulator. There goes another boat unit.
