Well we went from the dry hard to the water and now Georg backed into a slip !! First time-no problem, mon. Still waiting for a few parts and to actually go out and learn, practice, have some fun, get wet! (still not sure if everything is working right-heads-galley-electronics...). Would love to get some more mosquito covers for the hatches so air can flow without getting bites. We also need to have someone make a bimimini for sun protection. Some of it is there-maybe last owners dropped it overboard...? Always cleaning, working, repairing, fixing....ah....life on ur own boat :-). Met a nice English fellow, Nick, who will sail with us Wed. to a nice spot to snorkel , yaaaaaaa!......cool us all down. He is very nice and very experienced so that will be a nice start!
Our boat leans slightly to one side. In most of our cubbies are Georg's tools...engineer/tool maker.....we need to balance them a bit.
Soon the blog will get better, more exciting, and fun!
Watching a beautiful sun set~

Jill's way of making sure "everything" is working... I guess the final test today, was to see if one could wash there feet in the kitchen sink - and as you can see it worked :-):-)

Finally on the dock... She didn't like to turn to port for me ( lots of prop walk in reverse) so I backed here in from way outside of docks ....:-) and that worked just about perfect... We tried to find the Bimini cover but could not find it...= No shade for "me" in the cockpit .. I guess we will have to get a new one in Martinique ...

Today we moved EVERYTHING out of the boat and had them clean the inside ... One thing is for sure: we have way to much stuff .. The two girls (Jill and Betts) stood me up [again] = I really start to wonder if it's not me that's the problem , as during the past 10 days the workers also seemed to have been reluctant to show up at the 'job site'..... :-). Today was a very busy day , but the girls still managed to show up 1-1/2 Hours late... :-) Also last night when they 'finally' showed up, the at least they did bring me a drink and some snacks. - But Today Nada! Anyway they showed up just for the last pieces to be moved off the boat .. And before the cleaning ladies showed up I guess at end it all worked out :-). At 5PM we got the cushions back and started moving everything back onto the boat. We also managed to put the sails up ( with the help of the electrician ..) & I got the chance to go up the mast for the fist time to install the lazy jacks. The riggers also showed up and discovered a broken strain in one of the wires of the standing rigging = No sailing over the weekend.... Tomorrow we will move onto the boat and move into a slip in the marina.

~Interesting take Georg~ I believe we missed moving ur tools which in ur excitement you bought maybe some doubles to what's already on the boat and maybe too much stuff? I believe you said no bedding was on the boat -now we have too much and some doubles. I believe we helped bring half the stuff off ur boat and cleaned/organized/helped you tons after you said to go take a sailing lesson and eat so we could break you and watch your stuff so you could go alone to eat/drink/be merry. Anyways he runs a tough 'ship' -no bathroom break all afternoon/evening! And not much water but very
hot, dirty, and lots of work to do....Oh,So much fun so far!! :-)
Oh, one more happy note~ heard stories of pirates boarding a boat with guns and stealing all money, electronics, etc between Grenada and Trinidad but they lived. We have planned to do that crossing 3 times....a bit scary to me .....

Workers around here either don't show or show late and may work a couple hours so Georg postponed us moving onto the boat until Saturday. We hope to make some headway with cleaning and organizing on Friday (tomorrow) so it is possible to move onto the boat on Saturday. Most of us know usually things take longer /cost more etc. So We could extend again(hopefully not). Georg was a bit freaked as he couldn't find the one boat key and searched not sure where he put it......later found it on the boat in the trash.....
Just heard a story of some folks crossing from Grenada to Trinidad who were boarded by pirates with guns. All the electronics and money and such were stolen but they were not killed~ kinda scary. We're planning on that crossing 3 times. More soon it's dinner time :-)
