04/06/2012, BARBUDA
We moved around the reef of Coco Point and dropped anchor just west of Spanish Point.
We also have figured out the schedule for the next week until we pickup Becky..
We will move up the west coast of Barbuda tomorrow across the lagoon - maybe we will do a short frigate bird tour ....
Then on Sunday we'll sail down the east coat of Antigue and stay overnight somewhere around Green Island ... we will see ..

04/04/2012
Left Antigua around 8:30 AM and dropped anchor in Barbuda around 3:30 PM
(not much wind 8-10 knots but beautiful close haul with pretty much no swell)
About 5 miles of Barbuda we saw two Whales!
To our surprise the anchorage was "filled" with boats - we counted 11 at our arrival ... Last year we had the place to ourselves.
In the morning most of us had to move south and more behind the reef as a groundswell was effecting the anchorage ..

04/03/2012, Just north of Jolley Harbour ,Antigua
We left Guadeloupe at 9:30 AM ( Coffee shop to clear out didn't open until 8:30 )
and arrive in Antigua (Jolley Harbour ) at 4:15 PM - just as Jill predicted ...
We were also able to check into Antigua at 4:45 :-) - lucky day ...
.. I have to admit that we lost the race across the channel to a similar boat :-( not sure what I did wrong but he was just faster then us and gained close to 1 Mile over the 45nm crossing ....
We still went ahead and "celebrated " our arrival with a nice meal at the restaurant ..
We also filled up water today (we were OUT of water) .. Our tanks have not been smelling to good lately so I decided to add some sort of conditioner to the water this time (usually we don't do that) This conditioner comes in powder form packaged in 2oz packages ....(1 Package / 15 Gal .. bla bla bla don't really matter anyway - its just to warm up the story)
Smart ass Jorge the engineer thought - well that's going to be messy - filling the tanks and having to pure the 8 packages into the tank at the same time or so .. Solution - we do it well ahead pour the packages into a glass jar and the pour the powder into the fill opening before we fill the tanks - sounds like the right way to do ....
Here we go - onto the fuel dock getting the Water hose ready ( (first I did "annoy" jill a bit, as I started talking to another Skipper for 5-10min about some BS before starting refueling - sorry thats just how I am :))
Anyway water On ... but whats going on - Water doesn't want to go down the Pipe for some strange reason ...Darn the powder plugged up the fill hose ..
I had to use 4-5 feet of Coax cable for 10 min or so until I could get any water down that fill hose . I guess I won't do that again ...
So tonight we anchor on a small beach just a couple miles north of Jolly Harbour
Tomorrow we will head up to Barbuda where we will spend 2-3 nights before heading back to Antigua (we won't sail farther up north this year then Barbuda)

As far as the powder goes ... I'll try something new next time - you know me -I don't always like to go down the easy route :-)
04/01/2012, deshalies Guadeloupe
So we had spent the last two nights at Pidgeon Island just 8Nm south of Deshalies our current location...
If we can Check out tonight (Sunday .. It depends if the Coffee shop is open ....) we will head out tomorrow to Antigua ( we need to bunk some fresh water - desperately)

03/29/2012, Saint's Guadeloupe
Back at the Saint's ..
We arrive at the Saint's around 1PM .. to our surprise the whole anchorage was "littered" with moorings ?????
I didn't know how much they would cost therefore I anchored in 12m of water behind the almost full mooring field (cheap bastard as I can be.. not really just for today..)
This means we had to put out all our 50m of chain out. I snorkeled the anchor and it's solid in
Late in the evening a super yacht sailed into the bay and tried to anchor off town (because that's where the big boys belong).. unfortunately for him the harbor master was just about to do his evening round and he chased him away - right behind a little "crappie" Beneteau called Windhontas :-)

03/28/2012, Portsmouth Dominica
Today, we got up at 6AM to see the Parrots (Jaco Parrots to be exact) ...
We did get to see some flying around on the other side of the RAVINE ... regardless it was well worth it , as just walking around in the forest in the early hours is beautiful...
The expert bird watchers we are, we didn't bring any binoculars - of course
- not that I think it would have made a big difference.....
Then off to "another" waterfall, but no swimming this time....
We were "all done" for the day by 10:30 AM :-)
Tomorrow we will sail up to the Saints- short run only 18Nm or so
