Fall, cold clear
Hello all,

Well the day finally came, lower the mast, close out the boat for the winter.
As i look around the harbour its me and one other boat, left in the water. Was this a good idea? Well, I never grounded yet but we had to lash a halyard and heel the boat over 25% to get unstuck in the mud that held our keel at the dock. Did I say this was the last dock in the water. Yes there was ice in the bilge! Thanks to my Katlyn (youngest girl) and fellow sailor Bill W, we got her free. What was supposed to take 45 minutes....... Ya sure! took 4 hours before we had her on the trailer and on the way home.

We experienced a grounding escape and what a skill to have!

Nice to motor about the harbour this last day. The water was pristine! Quiet, mild 5 knot wind from the northwest, but, wow, chilly! As it turned out I was the one to doff my shoes and socks to walk the rail to crank the hitch in on the trailer! Yep, that was cold! Oh !!I so want the warmth of the Bahamas or anywhere south for that matter!!!!!!

So it now winter time for us. The snow is to come, we read our daily dose of Lat's & Att's and Blue Water sailing magazines.

Whats to come, well we plan up sizing our floating home, what we don't know as yet, lots of great choices out there.

As we look from the hot tub at night, we can only imagine what it will be like for us enjoying the deep Caribbean south,

And soon the spring will come!!!!!

Safe seas, Fair winds to all,

Ian and Jen
