Getting ready

10 May 2014 | Penetang
Ian, Really nice 26c
Its been awhile since writing here....getting ready for launch this year is a big job,
the inside work will wait until we get in the water, but the thru hulls need replacing. At first it looked simple, what? simple, you got to be kidding...the first thru hull easily loosened and we had enough wrench room....But.... After that every thru hull we tried with the wrench spun the whole thru hull and valve....So after a brief discussion with the marina workers I found their solution..... Charge the customer a bunch of hours for the labour....and grind the sucker off....Total time for me to grind one off..... 10 minutes.... assuming i had bought the replacement to go in...i would estimate 45 minutes to reconnect the valve and new piping.....

The good news, it looks like we are getting all new thru hulls, and did i plan that....NOOOOO! You just have to love this maintenance part of yachting!!!!

But hey, it was still a nice sunny day..... The hull is ready for antitfoul...and what? a new paint job for the top side before splashing...you bet....All this before June 1......

Oh did i mention our son is getting married as well......end of June....so one can imagine just how this have become busy......

July should be just a little more relaxing!!!!!

To all our friends, safe journeys....stay tuned for more.....
