Ah! New Bottom Paint

We just repainted the bottom, finally switching from the dull-but-functional black to bright and flashy and hopefully also functional red.

22nd Annual SSCA Gam

11 August 2012 | Islesboro Island, Maine
On Saturday, August 4, we attended the 22nd annual SSCA Downeast Gam at the lovely home of Dick and Kathy de Grasse at the north end of Gilkey Harbor, Islesboro Island, Maine (44°16.9N, 068°58.9W). We crossed over from Rockland to Islesboro in dense fog ... in Maine that means you can't see the lobster buoys in front of your boat. The fog lifted by late afternoon and we had a great dinghy cocktail party raft-up on Friday evening.

The festivities on Saturday included a potluck lunch, a talk on Isleboro's past by a local historian Jim Mitchell, and just a lot of gammy between fellow cruisers. The weather reports called for more fog and thunderstorms so we left lovely Isleboro for the more protected anchorage in Rockland on Monday and then anchored out in picture-perfect Linekin Bay on Tuesday night - and sailed up the Sheepscot River to our mooring the following day.
