Ah! New Bottom Paint

We just repainted the bottom, finally switching from the dull-but-functional black to bright and flashy and hopefully also functional red.

Any cruisers see something wrong with this picture?

Despite having use of a car (thanks, mom), I still miss the easy public transportation in Grenada and most of the Caribbean islands.

Anchoring in Prickly Bay, Grenada, I could just take the dinghy ashore at the Da Big Fish, walk up to the road, and voila - multiple buses would arrive to take me almost anywhere I wanted to go. The bus trip was also more fun than driving ourselves. There were unexpected break downs and detours. Drivers often delivered riders right to their front doors or stopped by the side of the road to buy themselves lunch. One of my favorite bus memories was a simple ride to downtown that ended up taking an extra thirty minutes. Not worried about us fellow passengers, the bus driver took a detour down a dirt road and stopped to deliver a packaged dinner to a very elderly woman waiting on her front stoop. I couldn't tell if it was the driver's mom - or just someone that needed a helping hand - but it was meals-on-wheels island-style.

Boothbay Region Boatyard, where our mooring is, does have a courtesy van for simple trips to the grocery store or over to Boothbay Harbor. But if you need to get out of town to visit family and friends off island you really need to borrow a car - and all the accessories that go with it.
