An okay anchorage when you need to sail the long haul past Shoal Water Bay, however, a tight anchorage especially when the boat count is greater than 4.

Another beautiful sunset at Hexham Island.
We departed Great Keppel Island at 3:30am with a full moon and sailed past Shoal Water Bay where the army are playing war games and have closed off the area to yachties. We were very happy to arrive at Hexham in calm conditions after 11 hours of sailing.

Unfortunately the island resort is closed and barricaded, the wildlife stil wait for the guests to arrive for a treat. There is still a shop that serves coffee, scones, jam and cream and an occassional pizza.
