We left Hexham and sailed to Curlew Island to get some protection from a 25knot southerly. Unfortunately we got 'bullets' over the hill that were strong enough to make a certain 'tinny' airborne and left floating upside down at sun-up with outboard well and truely drenched but still attached to the dinghy. Amazing what a gallon of fresh water and a can of WD40 can do. First pull after reassembly.........the outboard fired! Yippii!

An okay anchorage when you need to sail the long haul past Shoal Water Bay, however, a tight anchorage especially when the boat count is greater than 4.

Another beautiful sunset at Hexham Island.
We departed Great Keppel Island at 3:30am with a full moon and sailed past Shoal Water Bay where the army are playing war games and have closed off the area to yachties. We were very happy to arrive at Hexham in calm conditions after 11 hours of sailing.
