ITCZ molasses

We're trapped! Another day in the ITCZ, creeping along under hot sun or frequent showers. Can't wait to get shed of this place and move on. This is two days of slow travel.
We're motoring, again, since there's no wind and we desperately need to get out of the ITCZ. Other boats are suffering the same curse, but it doesn't make it better. Anne-Marie, the net controller on Starship (they helped us after we grounded in the Sea of Cortez) said last night that they had a great day since nothing broke. It made me cheer since we have also been dealing with a lot of equipment failures. Some, I can fix, others have to go by the wayside until we can effect repairs.
We hit 1500 nm tomorrow morning some time. That's a LONG way. With luck, we'll be at the equator in two days.
The showers have the added benefit of washing the salt off the boat and it's been great to have a clean boat, cleaner than since we left La Paz.
We're motoring just now so I took the opportunity to mail this. Everyone aboard is healthy and happy. We're sailing to Tahiti!
