Nassau exploration (and shopping)

19 December 2014
Nice, but cool to the locals
Cleaning the boat, busy shopping for food to re provision the boat for traveling south and buying boat supplies took up half our day. BUT, the second half made up for the first part. We dinghy over to Atlantis to check it out. Boy, that was something. The first thing we noticed were the unbelievable yachts that were docked around the marina. They where magnificent and beautifully maintain by the yacht's crews. Nothing small. Money just oozed everywhere. What a sight and we haven't even gotten to the resort yet!

Atlantis is a feat in itself. The details, the architect and the enormously of the place is overwhelming. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Unfortunately, we could not visit all of the areas since we were not guest there but got to all the main places. We may stop and get a day pass on our way through in the spring to enjoy it all.

Next, we walked forever into the main part up downtown to see what that was all about. The area is mostly a tourist section with stores favoring what tourist want to buy. You could see three large cruise ships anchored out there nearby with their passengers getting on and off the ships.

Drinks were at the Green Parrot with Bill to talk about tomorrow's plans to leave. Bad weather will be coming in on Sun. night and we need to be in a protective anchorage for that evening. Too bad we have to go so soon, there were so many things we had wanted to do yet but the weather dictates when we have to move along. Again, farewell to a great place.
