The place is starting to quiet down. The lines are dwindling away. You can actually walk outside without seeing anybody. Yes that's right winter is coming and all the summer folk " the tourist" are leaving. 4 days and it will be our station again.

After work hours, if you happen to be wondering around, you won't see any winter folk just yet. They are all hiding away in their rooms. waiting for the crowds to leave. But, if your lucky, you can catch them starting to poke their heads out occasionally. They look around tentatively, sniff the air then shut their room doors, not quiet ready to come out. The Antarctic Winter- over can be a strange bird.

Next week I will report on the strange and very wild Winterover "let's get this party started" ceremony. An event rarely seen by any but those who participate.
