The Official last flight has flown off to warmer climes, taking with it all the summer people. However, we still have one more flight on March 5th and the last 25 summer people will be on it. The Winter season has officially started but it just doesn't feel right until these last few leave. We will be doing the champagne toast when the plane flies on the 5th.

The Winter overs are waking up and have come out of there rooms. All the winter activities are being organized. The clubs formed. The volunteer jobs organized. The outings planned. In 2 weeks when the plane disappears over the mountains, we will be ready to get this winter going.

There have been a few straggler penguin groups hanging around town as well as some seals. It is nice to see the wild life, we don't get much of that here in the winter. Hopefully they will leave station before they get iced in. They usually don't do good once the ice seals up. We lost 3 penguins last year when the ice sealed up and left them with out food. That's Nature.
