Something strange has been going here at McMurdo. Sleep has always been a hard to come by thing for us. Nobody knows why for sure. We speculate about the close proximity to the magnetic pole, or utrasonic emisions from Mount Erebus, or maybe even the strange going's on in the under ground UFO base that is rumored to be here. What ever the reason , we all suffer from lack of sleep at one time or another. But last night, it was different.

This morning as we had breakfast we all began to talk about what a rough night we had. This was a group of 10 or so people, all of whom were red eyed (and putting away the coffee as fast as posible hoping for a burst of energy so we could make it through the day). As we talked, I started to notice a pattern. A common tread. For some reason almost all of us had woke up around 11:30P and stayed awake until around 3:00A. None of us heard a noice or felt that something had woken us. We all just woke up, wide awake. Now the speculations really began, but with a much more far out and humorous reach. The best speculation was, That the Dr. had been testing his anti-gravity time machine out last night,( the one he's been building since he got here). Yes, our Doctor is a little strange and ,well, he has been know to come up with some pretty off the wall things. UFO , time travel, alternate demisional travel etc.

What ever the season is, we'll never know. We just have to live with the little sleep we get here. And the longer we are here the more normal the strange occurances become. Who know we may even pitch-in with the Doc's little, anti-gravity demintional traversing time machine project soon...Sleep depravation creates some great illusions .
