Happy New Year

Well better late than never but Happy New Years to all of our friends, family and interested readers of our blog. It's been a very busy couple of weeks here in La Cruz and to top it off my Banda Ancha internet stick was not working for about 4 days. Turns out it was operator error and I didn't activate my time when I bought it and so it ran out!! Now I know better.
Well I wanted to have a Christmas filled with people and fun and wow did I ever get what I asked for. Our Christmas present to ourselves was 2 weeks at the marina in La Cruz. We have been going non stop since we got here. Catching up with old friends and making new friends along the way.
Our good friends that we met here in Mexico last year, Penny and Fred from a boat called Tapatai (they have since taken the boat back to San Diego), flew down for the week and we got to spend lots of fun times with them including a day trip to a small town on the beach north of here. It was really great to see them and we look forward to their return to Mexico on their sailboat next season.
We also caught up with good friends Naomi and Andrew from a boat called Amizade who live here in Puerto Vallarta. Such great people and so much fun to hang with. We spent new years eve day out on their boat on the bay going swimming and to a beach accessible by boat. We spent the evening with them enjoying a great dinner (they are both exceptional cooks) then we watched the fireworks from the beach.
Other friends we have seen and spent time with include Ann and Hugh from Serendipty, Phil and Carole from Maradon, Judy and Paul from Grace, Bill and Kat from Island Bound, Bernard from Simple Pleasures, Ann and Dick from Full & By, Ken and Carol from NautiMoments, Bob and Bobbie from Quin Yan, Gail and John from Music, Sheila and Brian who flew in from Vancouver and there are others I'm sure but too much wine has been consumed to remember every moment.
In between all the socializing, we have been working on various boat jobs and doing some provisioning from the big box stores we don't see except in the big cities like Puerto Vallarta. So our 2 weeks at the marina has flown by and in two days we will move out to the anchorage and wait for a good weather window for our trip south to Tenacatita one of our favourite places in Mexico. In just under 2 weeks time we will be picking up my best friend Maureen who flies into Manzanillo for two weeks with us. So never a dull moment as we continue to really enjoy our time in Mexico.
