We made it! Home to the boat in La Paz! It's been an interesting trip and we've enjoyed it more than we thought we might. When we left San Diego, we arrived right into the Baja desert and it was GREEN! Made for a beautiful drive.
Our first 2 days back were wet ones! Every time you stepped off the boat to go get something or do something, you got soaked. Ian finally just threw up his hands and said 'it's only water'. Otherwise we wouldn't have gotten anything done.
On the 30th, we took the day off and drove to Cabo San Lucus to have lunch with Ian's ex-wife and ex-parent in laws (outlaws as he likes to call them). They were in for the day on a cruise ship and it was fun to go and join them for the day. It was the first time I've met Ingrid, but I have met John and Mary on many occasions. Great to see them and glad we made the trip down.
We have been working hard to get the boat back in cruising shape and to provision her. I've been to the grocery stores 4 times over the last few days and each time I come back with a load! Finally done. We are going cruising for 2 months in an area that dose not have a lot of options for getting groceries so we take as much as we can and buy the fresh stuff when we can get it.
We are excited to get out sailing, swimming, snorkeling and fishing again. Tomorrow if all goes well we will head out of the bay here and start working our way up to Loreto.
