Uploaded weather and it looks good to go the fist part of the week. We have exhausted our stay in French Polynesia enjoying every minute. Our autopilot repair is complete bought a "new to me unit" in the US $400 shipping $300 but only 3 days to Papeete with DHL. Have some minor sail repairs and then clean the bottom ( the kids love that job) and we should be ready. A Samoa is about 1,100 miles with and anticipated stop on Suwarrow ( Tom Neal wrote about living on this island in An Island to Onself). This is the northern root to Tonga but the ITCZ has moved south and we are keen to avoid nasty weather if possible. This will also allow us to ship next years school supplies in at US rates. The past year was our attempt at developing an open curriculum supplemented with a few text books for English and Math. It was not the most successful part of our trip so this year we will use the Calvert school for most subjects and see how that goes. I'm just happy to be traveling as a family but realize the kids will one day need to fit back into a normal school system. I am up early since last night we bumped another boat that had anchored too close and when the current shifted we were neighbors, weighing 26 tons has a big advantage in situations like that as Becky never woke up and the other boat's entire crew was on deck by the time i found my shorts.
