Hiking and baking bread

Still a bit breezy all night and this morning and the sky was about half clouds. Charlie suggested we eat breakfast after we weighed anchor. He thought the boat might be a bit more stable, since we were rocking a bit at anchor. Again, we sailed off the anchor and southwest to get around the south shoal, but when we turned back southeast to sail back into the islands, we had to roll in the sail and motor the last half of the 10 to 12 miles to Hawksbill Cay. Cindy packed a bunch of snacks and drinks and her, Charlie and Mike dinghied over to the trailhead that leads up to the loyalist ruins and the beaches on the windward side of the island. Cindy said she wouldn't be moving into one of the loyalist houses anytime soon. They walked the south beach, but didn't find much there. I stayed on the boat and tried the new bread recipe. It turned out much better. I read the rest of the time. They made it back about 3:00 or so. Mike and Charlie took apart the macerator pump they took out of the boat yesterday and found what used to be an impeller. There was no fins left on the impeller. I wrote our next guest, David, last night asking him to pick us up another macerator pump to bring with him when he comes. Guess I'll write again tonight and ask him to also pick up an extra impeller or rebuild kit to put in the macerator that is still working, just in case. Then they pumped out the water in the oil case basin under the engine. We haven't figured out where the water is coming from. They have eliminated the generator, since we ran it this evening (note: it has run perfectly for the past few days). They will check it before and after we run the propulsion engine tomorrow. Mike grilled tenderloin steaks and I fixed baked potatoes and steamed broccoli for dinner. Cindy did the dishes. The skies cleared and we had bright sunshine all day. The winds did seem to ease a bit this afternoon, but are back to blowing again tonight. We are the only boat at Hawksbill and we are rolling a bit since we have a southerly component to the east wind.
