Charlie took advantage of having the wifi and played online poker for a while this morning. I slept in a bit. I made up the beds, swept the floors and vacuumed rugs. Then we headed to town to do a little grocery shopping. We stopped at the bread store and bought a loaf of white Bahamian bread, but she was just rising the cinnamon and raisin bread. We put our order in for a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread to be picked up later in the day. Went on up to the Blue Store and he happened to have everything else we needed. He even had squash today, so I made an impulse buy though it wasn't on my list. We stopped at Staniel Cay Yacht Club to buy Charlie a bottle of rum and I wanted a bottle of Marsala wine. They had the rum, no marsala. Oh well, have to change the menu a bit. Made it back to the boat for lunch. I boiled some potatoes and eggs for potato salad while Charlie killed a bit more time playing cards on the computer. At 2:00 we headed back into Staniel. We stopped at the public beach which is the closest point to the bread store and walked in to pick up our bread. This bread store is really a lady's kitchen. You just go up to the kitchen door to order or purchase your bread. We normally go up the creek by Isles General Store to pick up guests at the airport, but the tide was exceptionally low again this afternoon and we couldn't get the dinghy up the creek. We ended up tying up at the town dock where the mail boat mainly docks. Chris and Holly arrived at 3:00. We worried a bit because they weren't on the plane, but today Flamingo Air had enough passengers to run two planes, they were on the second one. We all walked back to the town dock and sent Charlie with the luggage in the dinghy while Chris, Holly and I walked through town. Charlie dropped off their luggage at the boat and met us at the yacht club. Chris and Holly got to see the sharks and rays at the marina. We came back to the boat, then Charlie took Chris and Holly over to Thunderball Cave so they could snorkel the cave. I finished up the potato salad while they were gone. We made reservations to go into the yacht club for dinner at 7:30. The yacht club was having a Casino Royale/James Bond party tonight, complete with casino games. We went in about 7:00 thinking we could sit early and get a drink, but they weren't sitting anyone early. Instead we all took a walk through town. I think we actually got to sit at 8:00. The meal was very good once it arrived. We had lobster chowder and coleslaw, then our meals. Chris and Holly had cracked conch. I had baked chicken and Charlie had his burger, with key lime pie for dessert. It took quite a while for dinner to be actually served. They started with two blackjack tables and there was people standing 3 and 4 deep around the table. Once people were finished eating, they started to set up additional tables for gambling. This was some sort of fund raiser for the island. We decided not to stay. The music was unbearably loud and the place was uncomfortably crowded. Even a mass of people outside on the walks down to the docks. They even had a temporary bar outside. Some of the people were dressed up as their favorite Bond character. We can still hear the music out here on the boat. Sunny all day, but the wind was quite cool out on the boat. In town, protected from the wind, it was warm. This evening is cool and clear with a huge, bright full moon.
