Anse de Paimpol to Paimpol
26 July 2014
Saturday morning was extremely foggy in the Anse de Paimpol where we were at anchor. With nearly a 1km dingly trip to take Bella ashore and with fishing boats moving around the area, we decided to go into Paimpol.
It was a very short trip and within the hour we were through the lock and inside the port. However, as it was still early in the morning, no boats had left and all the visitors berths were occupied. The harbourmaster asked as to wait for an hour as he was sure 4 boats were leaving that morning. As predicted, they moved off and we got into a berth.
Paimpol is a large town. The port used to be used for cod fishing boats that departed for Iceland each year. We plan to be in Paimpol over the weekend and move off early next week.
