Hurricane Bill strikes part 2

01 September 2009 | Truro River
skip sunny, rainy, awaiting ex hurricane Danny Boy
Well, Bill got us. No damage but, it did disintegrate our Air X wind gen blades.

We lost one completely and the other two where also broken! Now when I dismantled the wind gen, I found a lot of corrosion, seen on the table. This is the salt air and Aluminium and Stainless reaction.

Luckily we had a spare set of blades, which I've coated liberally in Duralac to inhibit the same thing happening again. However I will now dismantle it twice a year to check for fractures. If you have and Air X I recommend you do the same!!!

Fair winds and now awaiting ex hurricane Danny tomorrow......... oh joy!
