Yarmouth to Studland; 18nm traveled

31 May 2013 | Studland Bay
Nichola / Rare appearance by the sun
Had a stonking sail across Christchurch Bay this morning, with a F5 / F6 on the beam.

Anchored in Studland Bay in the sunshine. Wind is from north which isn't perfect for this anchorage, but it's not too bouncy so far. It was here or Swanage; chose here as we like the view!

It ws a tough decision to leave Yarmouth at the start of the old gaffers festival; but we need to remember we've got to get to Portugal and have to take advantage of the favourable winds for making progress west. Tomorrow we aim to use the northerly / north westerly wind to cross Lyme Bay, after which the wind is going light and variable for a few days. I find it very difficult to not get grumpy when the weather doesn't allow us to do what we'd like!
