Chain Plated

28 September 2008 | Brighton
Skip glorious
Well all the Chainplates are in, the mast is painted, re-wired thanks to my mum pulling cables. Emerald is turning into a true family effort. The mast steps are all riveted on, the aerials and lights are on as are the spreaders and radar, and the new tides marine strong track. All ?! that remains is the halyards to be moused through and some cleats replaced, then the rigging redone using 10mm wire and 3/4 inch bluewave rigging screws, clean the dirt from the furling gear, re-grease and we should be ready to re-step.

Mast refurb is a big! job, from pulling the mast stripping it, sandblasting and painting to re-assembly, wiring, rigging putting on steps..... i honestly think it is better than new now. Once stepped we are also running the lines back to the cockpit, and trying to get the heating installed in the next 8 weeks, i think i need to be cloned!

oh well up and at em early tomorrow to get some more done.

ciao Skip.
