First week of retirement

My first week of retirement has been quite exhausting - I haven't slept so well for ages! It started off with a weather forecast of a few days of dry weather so I decided to get some of the outdoor varnishing underway. Three days of crawling around the deck, heat gunning and stripping the old stuff off, sanding, masking up and then getting started on the 10 coats of Coelean has certainly awaken muscles unused from sitting at a desk for years. But I'm not complaining - the weight is dropping off and I'm eating cheesecake :-)
On my day of retirement Colin dressed the boat in her flags and decorated with balloons and a banner which was sweet. A weekend of relaxing then following and I was then itching to get on with boat jobs to get as much done as we can before the end of April. If I stop and think about what we have to do it all seems like too much so I'm just concentrating on a few at a time.
Today has been misty so I day off from the varnishing but the forecast looks good for the next few days so hopefully all 10 coats done by early next week - hurrah!
